Family Literacy Lesson Example

Challenge: To introduce adult educators to the Family Literacy Model, preparing them for a more intensive course that does a deep dive into each component of the model.

Solution: Partnering with subject matter experts, I designed a short eLearning module using graphics, interactions, structured language, and an animated video that takes into account that professional experience of the practitioners.

Tools Used: Articulate RISE, Camtasia, Vyond

Virtual Reality Lesson Design

Challenge: To design a series of virtual reality lessons with the educators, students and staff of an adult learning center that focused on GED test material and intersecting career skills.

Solution: With contributions (narrative decisions, script writing, performance capture) from teachers, students, and staff, I designed a lesson structure within the VR environment that incorporated learning objectives, learning content, and knowledge checks within each scenario. These experiences were displayed at a showcase designed to increase student retention and participation in the GED tests.

Tools Used: Engage XR, Camtasia

Animated Video

This video presents the importance of how communicating with families and students can affirm their identity and skills. I developed this video in collaboration with a SME, drafted the script, generated the narration with AI, and developed the animation using Vyond. This was just one element of the program, but was a valuable addition to our program and philosophy of a multimodal approach.

Articulate Storyline – Give Smart Learning Module

I produced this module as a demonstration of instructional design best practices, course design, and technical applications of eLearning authoring tools.
